Yanna M. Henriquez for NYC Council – District 21

Yanna Henriquez is a Dominican-born community leader and lifelong advocate for working families, immigrants, and small businesses in Queens. As Program Director of the Dominico-American Society of Queens and an elected District Leader, Yanna has championed access to education, jobs, healthcare, and legal services for underserved communities. She has held leadership roles across Queens, including with the Queens County Democratic Party and the Queens Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Endorsed by the leader of the Queens Democratic Party, Yanna is running for City Council to deliver affordable housing, safer streets, better schools, and stronger support for immigrant families across Corona, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, and Lefrak City.

She’s Already Making a Difference — Now She’s Ready to Do Even More." As an elected District Leader, Yanna Henriquez hasn’t waited for permission to lead — she’s been doing the work. From organizing food drives in Corona, to advocating for tenant protections in LeFrak City, defending immigrant families in Jackson Heights, and uplifting youth programs in East Elmhurst, she’s already been the voice our neighborhoods count on. Now, our communities are asking for more — more accountability, more action, more leadership that reflects the strength and diversity of Queens. This campaign is about transforming everyday advocacy into lasting policy. It’s about putting power where it belongs: in the hands of the people. She’s not new to this — she’s true to this.

Everyone deserves a safe and stable home. Yanna will fight to expand social housing, support first-time homeowners, and preserve the unique character of our neighborhoods. Housing in Queens should reflect the needs of the people who live here.
