Preston Baker, the District Leader for the 29th Assembly District, Part A in Southeast Queens, has officially endorsed Yanna Henriquez for New York City Council in District 21—representing Corona, East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and Lefrak City.
Known for his advocacy for communities of color, Preston has spent years championing equity, economic opportunity, and grassroots empowerment. His leadership across Southeast Queens has helped elevate underrepresented voices and build infrastructure that prioritizes working families.
“I believe Yanna Henriquez is the leader District 21 needs—a grounded, community-first advocate who will be a real resource for the people of Queens,” said Preston Baker.
He continued, “As District Leader and State Committee Woman, Yanna has shown the ability to be a true partner in Queens County. These coalition‑building and cross‑community skills will transfer beautifully into the NYC Council.”
Yanna expressed her gratitude, highlighting their shared vision:
“It’s been a pleasure to earn the endorsement of such a leader in Queens County as Preston Baker. Preston has been a pleasure to work with in all the positions I’ve held in Queens County, and it’s an honor to have earned your support… welcome to the team!”
Preston’s endorsement comes during a critical period of the campaign, following the support of the Queens County Democratic Organization and current Councilmember Francisco Moya. As the field narrows and early voting continues, this coalition is gaining strength across borough lines and communities.
Early voting runs from June 14 through June 22. Election Day is June 24.
Join the movement to elect Yanna Henriquez and build a more inclusive Queens.
