Somnath Ghimire, a proud Nepali American District Leader in Queens, has officially endorsed Yanna Henriquez for New York City Council in District 21, representing the neighborhoods of Corona, East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and Lefrak City.

Somnath is a known advocate for democracy, human rights, and global development. He has spent his career standing against corruption and discrimination while empowering those who are often left behind. His international recognition reached a new high in 2023 when he became the only Nepali American to receive the “Transitional Leadership Award” by Humanitarian Awards Global in Accra, Ghana 🇬🇭 — a moment he described as a "lifetime achievement" and one that inspires him “to continue working for humanity. Let’s not die without having done something wonderful for humanity.”

He often cites the words of Kofi Annan:

“We may have different religions, different languages, different colored skin, but we all belong to one human race. We all share the same basic values.”

Yanna Henriquez expressed deep gratitude for Somnath’s endorsement, stating:
